"Toys can be sociable, too. A toy I genuinely and unashamedly love is the train set ... when I set it up, I discover that it's a great focal point for the community, and that neighbours I don't even know knock on the door to ask if they can have a go. Mulled wine and shunting parties have become something of an annual fixture in the May household."
James May's Toy Stories, Conway, 2009
We source toys, construction sets and their components, build them up and integrate them into collections, sell them and support our Customers in their enjoyment. We design the collections to achieve three simple objectives - fun, education and a sound investment.
Our Company is named in honour of the great Engineer Arthur Henry Peppercorn who started his illustrious career in 1905 at the tender age of 16 as an apprentice with GNR, the Great Northern Railway. His achievements took him to the ultimate position of Chief Mechanical Engineer in 1946 and he became known as the designer of some of the best British steam locomotives ever in service. These included the now famous London & North Eastern Railways Peppercorn Class A1. Tragically none of these were preserved however from 1990 until 2008 a brand new A1 was designed and built by a loyal band of trusty Engineers and in February 2009 Prince Charles officially named the fabulous new locomotive "Tornado"
